Overview
Starting in Tashkent and ending in magnificent Samarkand, discover the culture, history and the present-day life of the ancient Silk Road cities with this fourteen days odyssey to the heart of the Silk Road. You will also try the nomadic lifestyle staying an overnight in the traditional desert Yurt Camp and enjoy the overwhelming hospitality of mountain farmers during your stay in an authentic Nuratau Mountain village.

Itinerary
Arrive in Tashkent and meet by our driver who transfers you to the hotel. Free time at the hotel.
If you happen round Tashkent, and you have a day to spare – do not miss a chance to make a one-day mountain tour to Gulkam canyon in the Big Chimgan surroundings, where you can feel as a true extreme sports lover. You are to have ascension to the pass, greeting a sight of Chimgan Mountains, descent by loose stones, a path in a birch wood, and pass with a belay Gulkam Narrow, the most interesting part of the route. From your both sides, you will have krantz overlooking you, where the daylight reaches the bottom only in midday hours. When it is heavily raining Gulkam Narrows may become deathful in case of a cloudburst flood, but in fair weather it is an excellent possibility to feel as a true extremes.
Tour itinerary:
9:00-11:00 Transfer to Chimgan.
11:00-12:00 Start hiking at 1600 m. by an intensive hour-long ascent (+220 m) to Gulkam pass (1820 m) by the good path through bushes of wild trees and shrubs. From the top of the pass you can see another side of the pass and get a bird's eye view of the Gulkam mountain river.
12:00-13:00 Descent from the pass to the canyon. The road passes through the small birch grove, where you will stop to have a rest and lunch (1550 m).
13:00-15:00 Lunch.
15:00-17:00 Walkthrough the gorges. It will be unforgettable time. We will overcome small waterfalls and will go ford the river sandwiched between rocky shores and enjoy the unique views of the steep canyon walls. The gorge, by itself, is a narrow (up to 5 meters) rocky corridor, the length of which is around 100 meters. There are 14 river crossings you will take either fording the river or jumping from stone to stone. There are three picturesque waterfalls located here. The passage though these waterfalls is a highlight of this route. At the еxit from the canyon, our driver will be waiting for us.

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Tashkent domestic airport. Fly to Urgench; transfer to the ancient city of Khiva. Check in at 14:00 in the hotel. Free day.
Dinner in restaurant “YasavulBoshi”.
Night in Khiva.
Breakfast in the hotel. Meet your guide in the hall of the hotel. Later proceed for guided walking sightseeing tour. Spend a day in UNESCO World Heritage site Itchan-Kala Fortress. Visit Mukhammad Aminkhan Madrasah, Mukhammad Rahimkhan Madrasah, Kalta-Minor, Kunya-Ark, Juma Mosque, Tash-Khovli Palace, Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum, Minaret of Islam-Khoja. Free time in the afternoon.
19.00 Dinner at the restaurant “Terrace” with show program.

Visit the desert fortresses of Toprak Qala, Qizil Qala, Ayaz Qala and Guldursun Qala
Drive through the Kyzyl-Kum desert to Bukhara. The journey takes 8 hours by bus. Arrival in Bukhara. Dinner at the hotel.
Dinner at the Old House restaurant. Lamb on a spit.
Overnight in Bukhara.

City tour in Bukhara including visits to Trading Domes, Labi Haus Ensemble, 12th century Kalon Minaret, Bolo Khauz Mosque, Maggoki Attor Mosque, Ismail Samani Mausoleum, Ark citadel, sights around Bukhara; summer palace Sitorai Mohi Hosa, Chor-Bakr necropolis, Bakhautdin Naqshband complex.
Folklore show program in Nodir Devon Begi Madrasah.
Dinner at the Lyabi Haus restaurant.

In the morning depart Bukhara and drive to yurt camp located in Kyzyl Kum desert (230 km, 4 h.*). On the way stop in Gijduvan pottery masters workshop and Nurata town to visit a local mosque with a holy spring water. In the afternoon continue driving to yurt camp in Kyzyl Kum desert. Stop on Nurata pass to see petroglyphs. Arrive in Safari Yurt Camp, accommodation in yurt. Camel riding and free time. In the evening dinner near the camp fire with Kazakh akin singing folk songs. Overnight in the yurt.

Drive via Lake Aydarkul to Nuratau Mountains. Arrive and settle in the homestay in Sentob village, explore the village and get to know daily livelihood activities of mountain dwellers.
The village Sentob located between Nuratau Mountains and Kyzylkum Desert. The village has preserved the quiet and moral valuables of the past and it seems that a small part of virgin nature suspended in time.
Local people build themselves houses of small stones, rocks and clay. They plant, grow and gather themselves vegetables to cook a meal. Meal is cooked in the open-fire oven. People gather and dry nuts and pistachios. Each family has a few head of livestock and poultry, which provide eggs, milk, meat and wool.
Guests have an opportunity to experience and participate in everyday life of local people. They can participate in baking bread in tandyr (clay ovens), see a wedding ceremony and witness the traditional competition on horsebacks Kup-Kary during the game season. The most popular tourist activities are hiking, bird watching, photo shoot, ecological tours and others. Moreover you can just sit on tapchan in the company of friends and relax, sipping tea and enjoying chants of birds. By the way, drinking water is very pure and has no impurity.

Breakfast at the guest house. Leave Nuratau Mountains and drive to Samarkand. Arrival to Samarkand. Check in the hotel. Free time for rest.

City tour in Samarkand. Visit Registan squer, GurEmir mausoleum, Bibi-Khanym Mosque, Siob Bazaar, Sha-i-Zinda necropolis, Afrosiab Museum and Ulugbek’s Observatory. A visit to the Meros workshop in the village of Konigil, where Samarkand silk paper is made by hand from mulberry.
Visit to the national theater "El Meros", costume show program of national customs and traditions.
Dinner at the Karimbek restaurant.
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day in Samarkand.
Overnight in Samarkand.
Early breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Tashkent by “Afrasiab” train. Arrival to Tashkent.
Upon arrival you will be met by a guide and driver of the company. City tour in Tashkent. Visit “Independence Square”, Hasti Imam complex. “Mega Mall Planet”, New mosque “Minor “,The Tashkent underground”.
Dinner at the Caravan restaurant.
